Irene Tanner

Irene is an interdisciplinary film artist based in An Rinn, Co. Waterford. She has a background in anthropology and public advocacy and draws on this experience to create critically engaged site-specific works.

Her filmmaking builds on the languages of essay film, video diary and ethnographic film to explore our relationship with the natural world from a plurality of perspectives. Working with moving image, projections, archive material, sound and performance, her film practice seeks to promote self-reflexive and critical understandings of social and environmental concerns.
